A Zoos Victoria, Friends of the Zoos (FOTZ) membership gives you and your family year round access to Victoria's 3 great zoos: Melbourne Zoo , Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary ; as well as discounts and the latest information about zoo happenings in our quarterly magazine, Zoo News.

FOTZ is a non profit, independent organisation supporting Zoos Victoria and wildlife conservation. Providing support with over 900 Volunteers,  we are currently in the process of applying for charitable stutus and are committed in our support to Zoos Victoria both financially and in kind.

Dokkoon Delivers

 Dokkoon & Baby ElephantFemale Asian Calf Born at 1.10am.

The first baby elephant in Melbourne Zoo's 147-year history was born early today to the delight of tired but ecstatic Zoo staff.

After weeks of round the clock moitoring and enormous anticipation, Asian Elephant Dokkoon became the first elephant in Australia to give birth to a female calf and also to deliver a baby conceived by artificial insemination.
